Livagen has been shown to influence chromatin structure by inducing deheterochromatinization, which involves the decondensation of heterochromatin. In patients with atherosclerosis, Livagen, both alone and in combination with cobalt ions, has been found to normalize genomic instability. This suggests its potential in reducing chromatin condensation and improving genomic health in atherosclerosis patients.^[2]

Livagen, particularly when combined with cobalt ions, enhances the activity of nucleolar organizer regions (NORs) and increases the frequency of acrocentric chromosome associations in lymphocytes. Digestive Enzyme Activity

Livagen administration affects digestive enzyme activity differently based on age. In young rats, it reduces enzyme activity, while in older rats, it increases activity, bringing it closer to levels observed in young control animals.
